Breast reduction is done to remove extra fat, skin and gland from the breast and comes with its lift (mastopexy). It is done in case the breast is too heavy and large, asking for a better proportion with the rest of the body.

BREAST AUGMENTATION VS REDUCTION
Breast reduction has more extensive incisions ( around the areola and from there, vertical to the fold and, sometimes along the fold as well ), than breast augmentation, but in around one year they will normally considerably improve, especially on fair skin.

HOW BREAST REDUCTION IS DONE
Breast reduction overturns almost totally. Most of the times, particularly when major reductions are needed, women will not be able to breast feed or may have permanent sensory alterations of the nipple-areola complex.

BREAST REDUCTION POST-OP RECOVERY
Breast reduction post-op recovery is faster and easier compared to breast augmentation. Takes around a week to go back to “normal”. The surgery can be performed either with local anesthesia and IV sedation or under general anesthesia. To maintain the results stable over time, body weight need to be stable as well.

Duration of intervention: About 1h 45′
Recovery Time post-operatory: About 1 week
Time in the Clinic
