Restore the Brightness of Your Smile with Professional Teeth Whitening

Stains caused by smoking, coffee, tea, red wine, antibiotics, root canal treatments or natural aging can all dull your smile. Fortunately, professional teeth whitening in Rome at Absolute Health offers a safe and effective solution to brighten your teeth.

Step One: A Dental Check-Up

Before undergoing any whitening procedure, a dental consultation is essential to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy. A clean and healthy mouth is key to long-lasting, visible results.

Safe and Customized Treatments

We use professional-grade whitening gels based on hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, sometimes activated with LED or laser light to accelerate results. These treatments are only available under professional supervision and can deliver visibly whiter teeth after the very first session.

Two Whitening Options:

In-Office Treatment: Quick and effective, performed in our clinic in about one hour.

Take-Home Whitening: Custom-made transparent trays worn at home, usually overnight, for about a week.

For optimal and lasting results, we often recommend combining both methods: a “boosting” session in the clinic followed by the at-home phase.

To create the whitening template, you start with an impression of your teeth and make a plaster copy. On the cast, a blue shim is applied to the surfaces that are to be whitened. Then a thin transparent sheet is “printed” on the model of your teeth and takes its shape. This results in the “custom-made” template of the teeth, with a reservoir for the gel only where the blue shim was placed. Finally, the template is applied in place with the whitening gel only to the areas to be treated.

  1. Usually, at the gum line, teeth are darker. Whitening will be less rapid and intense in this area.
  2. Sometimes during whitening there may be sensitivity. In this case contact the dental office. We generally recommend using the mask every other night or during the day for 1-3 hours.
  3. Acidic foods or drinks can increase tooth sensitivity.
  4. In some cases the gums, lips, throat or tongue may have temporary discomfort. After treatment is finished, they disappear in 1-3 days.
  5. Coffee, smoking and other substances, over time, can stain your teeth again . In this case you can whiten your smile again with just a few nights of treatment, so keep the masks!
  6. Professional checkups and cleanings at the dental office are essential before and after whitening to maintain a healthy smile.
  7. If you want to learn more, ask your dentist at Absolute Dentistry.
  8. It may happen that old metal (amalgam) fillings leave purple stains in the mask; this is normal.
  9. Keep the whitening gel away from light and sun
  10. Discard any residual gel when the whitening treatment is complete.
Intervention Duration: Approx. 1H
